We at Masonry Cosmetics do not recommend painting exterior brick.　There are many different paint and paint/epoxy products in the market place, and we have experience with many of these products.　Why do we not recommend paint?　Here’s a better question: Why make a maintenance-free product like brick, a maintenance-required product?　We have seen paint peel off exterior brick as early as the first 2 to 5 years.　Also, depending on the paint product used, paint can change the physical characteristics of brick.　 It can trap moisture, which can damage the brick by freezing and thawing causing the brick to "spall" or have its face pop off.
